Passport Stamp : Madrid Mami

For the past three birthdays I have celebrated out of the country, so of course this year was no different.  I had been wanting to go to Madrid for just about FOREVER, so of course when I saw a flight for $406RT I had to jump on it!

It started off as a solo trip, but slowly turned into a girl’s trip! I used Google Flights to purchase my RT ticket. I flew from JFK to MAD on Iberia Airlines , and it was great! The seats were comfy, their plane was clean, staff was nice, and they bumped me to priority on both flights!

We landed in MAD and took a €25 Uber to Madrid City Center. Carmincita Bar was our first stop (with luggage & all)! This place is super reasonably priced and €1 mimosas (€8 for a pitcher)! Sarah & I ordered the Eggs Benedict (which was amazing), and Devin ordered the french toast!

This place is cute and quaint so I advise making reservations. We had reservations and still had to wait a little bit while they found seating for us.

Where to stay? Room 007 was such a cute little hostel with a rooftop, and restaurant inside of the building!

Each night runs around €30 a night, and the location is so cute. It’s near lot’s of shopping and restaurants.

If you have a little down time or just want to relax Art Thai Massage   is where you should go! £29 for a 60 minute massage!

We did small shopping, but we all bought fabulous boots (that I KNOW we won’t see in the states from Uterqüe. We spotted this one fly chica walking downtown, and she directed us here! Somewhat pricey (depending on what you’re looking for) but everything is 100% leather, so completely worth it and expected!

And if you want to go out dancing and have cheap drinks Truco is it! It’s right in Plaza de Chueca, no cover charge and buy one drink get one drink + a shot for free!

Now we found an organization called Melanin Madrid!

MM is for all of the transplants living and working in Madrid! We ended up going to one of their Afro day parties and had a blast! We chatted with Traneka (the creator & founder of MM) and she gave us so many suggestions for dinner, drinks and dancing! If you’re ever headed to Madrid, be sure to check out to Melanin Madrid’s Facebook page.
